This online course was created during the pandemic of 2020 in order to gather together those interested in art and encourage everyone to keep painting, stay connected and creative. Each course is different, depending on the needs and requests of the people in the group on screen, and is a bit like a taster course in all mediums requested, alongside a variety of subjects painted in different styles. The general course outline below serves as an example of what could be included and it is suitable for absolute beginners dipping their toes into the wonderful world of art, through to artists who are already familiar with watercolours, acrylics or oil paints, pastels, pen & ink, pencils, coloured pencils, collage or any form of mixed media. You don’t have to invest in lots of art supplies… just pitch up with whatever you have to hand, join in with the demonstrations or just watch for inspiration and ideas. If you are already a confident drawer or painter and would like to try a different medium then this could act as the perfect taster course, all without leaving your house! Sessions are recorded and uploaded onto a private YouTube channel so participants can watch each session again at their leisure.

Suggested Session Outlines
Session 1 - Drawing and shading techniques with graphite and charcoal
Session 2 - An introduction to pastels with a demo on how to create an animal portrait
Session 3 - Knife painting with oils or acrylics, creating texture in your paintings
Session 4 - Introducing watercolours with a seasonal or botanical theme
Session 5 - Mixing colours to paint successful sunsets or skin tones
Session 6 - Back to the drawing board with pen & ink sketches and colour washes.
Materials List
Absolutely anything goes, just pitch up with any art materials you have and we’ll go from there! However, you will need a computer, laptop, iPad or phone with a camera or webcam. If you’re not familiar with Zoom, don’t worry, a quick tutorial on how it all works will happen on the first session and instructions will be emailed prior to the start date.
