For experienced painters and those who have been on my introductory courses, we focus on well-known artists, famous paintings or techniques and explore how they can inform our own style. There are short presentations covering art history, demonstrations, group discussions and critiques with the emphasis on encouraging and informing each other of our own artistic discoveries as well as working in our chosen mediums. The mission (should you choose to accept!) is designed to complement and challenge the way you already work and dovetails in with the Artynoons if you need more time for further exploration. In 2014 we looked at Vincent Van Gogh, David Hockney and John Singer Sargent. In 2021 we focused on story-telling with composition; balancing tone and colour for mood; edges and mark-making… takes your paintings to the next level.
