This six-week painting course will enable you to accurately plan, draw, then paint the characteristics of your favourite pet or animal. As well as using the traditional approach of indirect painting to get a likeness, I will be demonstrating a quick and dynamic approach for those who wish to be challenged to capture character and movement in a more immediate way. We will look at how to select photographs to work from, how to draw a likeness onto canvas, then how to recreate the textures of fur, shiny eyes and wet noses of some of our favourite animals. Using acrylic and/or oil paints we will consider how different techniques can be employed to build up and create a beautiful textured portrait. This course is suitable for artists who are already familiar with acrylic or oil paints and confident working with either and is a great follow on from the Fur & Feathers Course.
NEXT COURSE: Starts Thursday 14th November - 19th December, 10am-1pm at Storrington Village Hall, RH20 4DZ. Please contact Kate if you are interested.
COST: £295 for 6 classes of 3 hours, includes teas, coffees and homemade cake.
