This is a gentle, supportive and nurturing day in collaboration with professional sound therapist Marisa Tighe. Marisa and I are curious to explore the effects that a sound bath may have on preparing mind and body before a creative activity. We know that sound vibrations and certain repetitive rhythms help us reach a meditative and creative state of mind (Theta state). We also know that the thinking, self-critical mind state of everyday life can get in the way of fully expressing ourselves through art. At this event you can draw or paint whatever you like, big or small, in whatever medium you choose with the aim to notice any difference in your approach both before and after the meditation.

EVENT DATE: Tuesday 16th July at Sullington Manor Farm Café, Sullington Lane, Storrington, West Sussex, RH20 4AE, from 10am-4pm. Please contact Kate if you are interested.

COST: includes a delicious homemade lunch of soup with soda bread, salad plate and cake plus tea & coffee. Please let me know of any dietary requirements when booking.

Overview of the Event

We will start the day by getting cosy with a coffee and I will introduce you to a few methods of how to approach sketching. We will be mindful of the way we feel as we start drawing or painting objects of our choosing - you can bring your own subject matter or use the barn and the still life display for inspiration.

After a delicious lunch made by Gail and Anna in the café, Marisa will help us relax in an hour’s sound bath preparing your mind, body and soul to express the less conscious part of you and your creative spirit in the final drawing session. Homemade cake, tea and coffee is provided throughout the day and we will finish with a short reflection on what aspects of the day helped you with your creative process.
